Before the Christmas season is too far beyond us, I have to post about the Christmas markets! The European tradition of outdoor Christmas markets is a special experience, and Brussels has a large one right downtown. Antique carousels, hot mulled wine, and handcrafted goodies abound. There was also a giant ferris wheel and iceskating rink set up on an old canal that was once used to bring fresh seafood into the city. Of course a trip downtown wouldn’t be complete without stopping at our favorite outdoor seafood restaurant – doesn’t Morgan look thrilled that we were making her wait to ride the carousel until after lunch?
